Wondering whether number coding is in effect today? Coding is automatically suspended on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays — no special announcement needed for those days.
Special Suspensions
The MMDA also announces special suspensions for heavy storms, holidays, and special events. These are not automatic — coding remains in effect unless the MMDA says otherwise, so never assume a suspension. Check the MMDA’s official Facebook page and announcements before heading out.
How to Check If Coding Is Suspended
- Check the day: Saturday or Sunday means no coding.
- Check the calendar: is today a public holiday? Then no coding.
- Check the MMDA’s official Facebook page for same-day suspension announcements.
- Listen to traffic advisories during severe weather or special events.
- When in doubt, assume coding is in effect and plan accordingly.
