Easytrip RFID Guide

Last updated: October 6, 2026

Heading north out of Metro Manila? If your route takes you up the NLEX or SCTEX, you need an Easytrip RFID sticker. Here is what first-time expressway drivers need to know.

What Is Easytrip RFID?

Easytrip RFID is the electronic toll sticker used on expressways operated by Metro Pacific Tollways — most notably the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX). A small sticker goes on your windshield or headlamp, and toll is deducted automatically as you pass through the gate.

Which Expressways Use Easytrip?

Easytrip covers the Metro Pacific network, which includes NLEX and SCTEX. Other expressways in the network have historically included CAVITEX and CALAX, though coverage can change as new tollways open and operators update their systems. Check the official Easytrip channels for the current list before a long trip.

How to Get and Install One

Easytrip stickers are installed at enrollment sites along the expressways and at select customer service centers. Installation is free — you only pay for your initial load. Bring your vehicle, your driver’s license, and your OR/CR. The whole process usually takes a few minutes.

How Reloading Works

Your Easytrip wallet works like a prepaid load. Top up online, through the Easytrip app, at partner outlets, or at toll plaza reloading lanes. Keep your balance above your usual toll — an insufficient balance at the barrier means reversing out while traffic builds behind you.

Autosweep vs. Easytrip: Which One Do You Need?

The Philippines has two main toll systems, and they are not interchangeable:

  • Easytrip RFID — NLEX, SCTEX, and other Metro Pacific expressways (northbound routes).
  • Autosweep RFID — SLEX, Skyway, NAIAX, and other San Miguel expressways (southbound routes).

If you regularly drive both north and south, you need one sticker for each system. Read our Autosweep RFID Guide for the southbound network.

Practical Tips for First-Timers

  • Get the sticker installed before your first long trip — do not rely on cash lanes during holiday rushes.
  • Keep a buffer in your wallet. Tolls add up fast on long NLEX–SCTEX runs.
  • If the RFID lane fails to read your sticker, use the cash lane and have the sticker checked at the next service center.
  • Keep your OR/CR and registration details current — toll violations are tied to the registered owner.
