The Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP), better known as number coding, restricts vehicles on major Metro Manila roads based on the last digit of the plate number. Here is the complete weekly schedule.
Weekly Coding Schedule
| Day | Plate numbers ending in |
|---|---|
| Monday | 1 and 2 |
| Tuesday | 3 and 4 |
| Wednesday | 5 and 6 |
| Thursday | 7 and 8 |
| Friday | 9 and 0 |
| Saturday and Sunday | No coding |
Coding Hours
Coding is enforced during rush hours: 7:00–10:00 AM and 5:00–8:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
Window Hours Explained
Outside of coding hours, there are window hours from 10:01 AM to 4:59 PM when coded vehicles may travel on most roads. Window hours give drivers a midday period to run errands or pass through Metro Manila.
Makati City Exception
Makati City does not observe window hours. Coded vehicles are banned from Makati roads from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on their coding day.
Fines
The standard fine for a number coding violation is ₱300. Enforcers may also direct violating drivers to pull over or change routes.
Suspension of Coding
Number coding is suspended on weekends and public holidays. It may also be lifted during severe weather events or special MMDA announcements, so check official advisories before traveling.
